Heading for Iowa

Good Morning y'all. This will be another quick post as we're getting the bus-house ready for an early departure from Lebanon Hills Park. We're thinking that if we "hot-foot" it down to Algona Iowa this morning we have a chance of arriving early enough to snag a camp site before the weekend crowd arrives after work tonight. Probably won't make a difference, but we can hope.

If the target campground is full for the weekend we don't have much to fall back on.  Normal August weather in Iowa might be a tad warm for comfortable drycamping in dusty old truckstop.   Later...

PM UPDATE:
We're at Smith Lake County Park just north of Algona Iowa. We left Lebanon Hills Park a few minutes before 9am and made it here just a tad after noon. Good luck was with us as we snagged the last campsite among the throng of weekend campers that bring their kids and dogs and boomboxes and bundles of firewood out to the country in an attempt to escape the routine of their lives. We'll endure the busy weekend in anticipation of a much quieter time starting Sunday afternoon when many of them return to the humdrum. Dar's family tree research will take her to the Courthouse and Library so we'll be here until Tuesday or Wednesday the way things look now. More tomorrow...
